World Vision Ethiopia is hiring a Community Safety and Wellbeing Officer on a local fixed-term basis. The role supports integrated programs aimed at the most vulnerable children, families and communities in conflict-affected areas, working with government sectors, community-based and faith-based organizations and other local actors. It ensures that conflict sensitivity, violence prevention and trauma healing support are implemented effectively, and strengthens rapid response mechanisms that are conflict-sensitive and protective of community dignity.

- Support trauma healing activities and coordinate with partners to train faith leaders, health extension workers and teachers as trauma healing facilitators, providing technical guidance and managing referral systems for those needing specialized support.
- Take part in coordination meetings, including monthly woreda-level protection and psychosocial meetings and peacebuilding cluster meetings, and maintain links with regional and woreda-level platforms.
- Facilitate Do No Harm and conflict sensitivity training for staff and partners, recruit and train youth peace champions, and give ongoing field support to community-led violence prevention initiatives.
- Strengthen woreda-level monitoring by equipping situation rooms with operational and reporting materials.
- Monitor field activities, conduct periodic visits to track progress, data validation and compliance, document lessons learned and share best practices, and submit timely periodic reports to the Head Office and regional stakeholders.
Required profile
- University degree in peace, development, social work, sociology, psychology or another relevant field.
- At least two years of relevant experience for master's graduates and three years for first-degree holders in peacebuilding; experience in protection and humanitarian response programming is an asset.
- Experience working with children, youth, women and faith leaders, and in designing and implementing peacebuilding and protection projects.
- Preferred: knowledge of integrating peacebuilding across sectors, experience in fragile contexts, and knowledge of the local language.
