Compliance and Systems Director

About the role

The Compliance and Systems Director (CSD) is a senior member of the Ethiopia country programme senior management team. Reporting to the Country Director, the CSD leads compliance, finance, procurement, logistics and HR functions to ensure the programme meets donor and internal requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership on compliance, ensuring donor contractual requirements and internal procedures are interpreted and applied across the programme.
• Oversee finance, procurement, logistics and HR teams, guaranteeing adequate staffing, capacity building and proper use of systems such as Navision and ELO.
• Manage the country programme budget, financial reporting, audits and partnership agreements with implementing partners.
• Develop and maintain procurement guidelines, annual procurement plans and conduct regular audits of procurement processes.
• Supervise logistics operations, asset registry, fleet planning and ensure anti‑corruption controls are in place.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in senior management of finance, procurement, logistics or HR within an international NGO or similar environment.
• Proven ability to lead multi‑disciplinary teams, build capacity and ensure compliance with donor regulations.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of Navision ERP system.
• Experience with ELO document management system.
