Country Finance Manager – Ethiopia & Djibouti

About the role

The Country Finance Manager is the primary finance partner for Ethiopia and Djibouti, providing financial leadership, governance, and operational oversight across both markets. The role works closely with local stakeholders, Global Service Centres, Finance Business Partners and regional finance teams to ensure accurate reporting, strong internal controls and compliance with statutory and global standards.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the Finance Lead for Ethiopia and Djibouti, partnering with country leadership and business stakeholders.
• Lead and coordinate country finance operations, directing offshore finance teams and ensuring timely delivery of finance activities.
• Collaborate with the Global Service Centre Account‑to‑Report team to deliver accurate financial close, reporting and accounting deliverables.
• Partner with the Third‑Party Accounting team to complete monthly balance‑sheet reconciliations on time.
• Maintain balance‑sheet integrity and ensure compliance with internal policies.
• Support rolling forecast processes with country‑level financial insights and analysis.
• Work with Finance Business Partners to improve financial visibility and support business decisions.
• Monitor finance health metrics, conduct onsite control reviews and drive process improvements.
• Support internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with Local GAAP, IFRS and company policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce or a related field.
• Professional accounting qualification (CA, ACCA, CPA, CMA or equivalent) preferred.
• Proven experience in finance, accounting or controllership roles within a multinational or complex business environment.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, balance‑sheet management, reconciliations, internal controls and statutory compliance.
• Working knowledge of IFRS and local GAAP requirements.
• Experience partnering with shared service centres and cross‑functional stakeholders across multiple geographies.
