Deputy Matron

About the role
The Deputy Matron will support the Matron in leading nursing services at KADISCO General Hospital. Based on‑site in Addis Ababa, this full‑time position ensures safe, high‑quality patient care across all hospital units.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise nursing staff and coordinate duty rosters.
- Monitor compliance with clinical protocols, infection‑prevention standards and quality‑improvement initiatives.
- Mentor and coach nurses, identify training needs and support orientation of new team members.
- Assist in policy development, resource management and incident reporting.
- Promote effective communication among multidisciplinary teams.
Required profile
- Registered nurse with a Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Nursing.
- Proven leadership and supervisory experience in a senior nursing or ward‑management role.
- Strong understanding of nursing standards, patient safety and infection‑control practices.
- Excellent problem‑solving, decision‑making and conflict‑resolution abilities.
- Willingness to work full‑time on‑site and adapt to shift‑based schedules.
