Director of Processing

About the role

The Director of Processing leads a team responsible for receiving, scanning, and entering admission documents, as well as managing outgoing mail and recruitment material. This senior position ensures efficient processing to support university enrollment goals and drives continuous improvement of operational services.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a professional team that delivers exceptional customer service to prospective students.
• Create and execute an annual plan for admission document handling and data entry.
• Develop and maintain written procedures for all processing activities.
• Oversee full‑time and temporary staff in document processing, transcript calculations, mail handling, and partner tuition discounts for online students.
• Deliver training on daily tasks and quality‑assurance practices.
• Collaborate with Operations and Admissions to identify efficiency and quality improvements.
• Assist in producing reports to evaluate processing performance and staffing plans.
• Analyze data to maintain high quality standards in processing.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of higher‑education experience, with 3 years in operations.
• Knowledge of federal and state regulatory requirements.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
• Strong conflict‑management and relationship‑building skills.
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
• Capacity to thrive in a fast‑paced environment with competing priorities.
• Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends.

Required skills

• Microsoft Excel (part of Microsoft Office Suite).
• Slate or a similar admissions CRM.
