Protection, Gender, and PSEA Officer

About the role

The Protection, Gender, and PSEA Officer provides strategic and technical support to embed safeguarding, gender equality and protection principles across WFP‑supported IDP projects. The role leads the implementation of gender and protection components, builds capacity of staff and partners, and ensures compliance with donor and international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and facilitate program activities, ensuring alignment with objectives and donor requirements.
• Lead Safeguarding, gender and protection activities throughout the project cycle in collaboration with consortium partners.
• Participate in concept note preparation and proposal development from a gender perspective, ensuring gender‑specific indicators and tools are integrated.
• Conduct programmatic assessments, including gender and protection analyses, and incorporate findings into strategy and advocacy.
• Facilitate focus groups and interviews to identify needs of women, men, girls, boys and vulnerable groups.
• Ensure gender‑sensitive approaches are embedded in protection assessments and activities.
• Address issues of SGBV and Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (SEA) in line with international guidelines.
• Work closely with program and MEAL teams to monitor and report on gender, safeguarding and protection outcomes.

Required profile

• Strong expertise in Safeguarding, Gender Equality and Protection.
• Proven experience in leading gender and protection components within humanitarian projects.
• Excellent report writing, communication and capacity‑building skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with consortium partners and stakeholders.
