Finance Officer

About the role

The International Rescue Committee is seeking a Finance Officer for its Harar field office (Mieso). Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, the incumbent will ensure smooth financial operations, compliance with grant agreements, and accurate cash management in a humanitarian setting.

Key responsibilities

• Review payment requests and verify supporting documentation against grant eligibility.
• Process payments in the Integra ERP system after obtaining required approvals.
• Perform three‑way matching of invoices, purchase orders, and payments.
• Monitor budgets using Power BI and support procurement activities in local markets.
• Oversee field payments within authorized thresholds and manage sequential check issuance.
• Conduct daily cash counts, reconcile cash and bank balances, and prepare bank reconciliation reports.
• Maintain accurate financial records, upload scanned documents to the shared drive, and ensure daily updates in Integra.
• Provide orientation and training on IRC financial policies to newly hired staff.
• Report any irregularities in cash operations to the Finance Manager and prepare cash analysis reports.

Required profile

• Proactive and detail‑oriented finance professional.
• Experience handling cash operations, bank reconciliations, and budget monitoring.
• Ability to work independently in a field office environment and train staff on financial procedures.
