Finance Officer

About the role

World Vision Ethiopia is seeking a Finance Officer to manage grant financial accounting and support field operations. The role ensures accurate, timely financial processing in line with donor, government and organisational policies.

Key responsibilities

• Manage petty cash, process payments for casual staff, suppliers and service providers according to WV policies.
• Review and approve supplier invoices, coordinate with supply chain and shared services to avoid delays.
• Prepare funding requests, track grant expenditures, monitor burn rates and ensure compliance with donor requirements.
• Record all financial transactions in the general ledger, maintain voucher interfaces and file supporting documents.
• Facilitate project start‑up and close‑out financial processes, including grant disbursements and inter‑company transfers.
• Process local travel and business advances, and ensure timely settlement of advances and payables.
• Handle withholding tax, income tax, per‑diem tax and pension contributions in accordance with government regulations.
• Provide technical financial support to program teams, prepare donor financial reports and assist with budget revisions.

Required profile

• Experience in grant financial accounting and familiarity with donor and government financial regulations.
• Knowledge of World Vision finance policies, JPIA and FLA guidelines.
• Strong attention to detail, reliability and ability to meet strict reporting deadlines.
• Proficiency in processing invoices, vouchers and inter‑company transactions.
