Flow Monitoring Enumerator – Metema (2 positions)

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking two Flow Monitoring Enumerators to support its Data and Research team in Ethiopia. Working under the Programme Manager of the Data and Research unit, you will collect and verify migration‑related data at flow‑monitoring points (FMPs) and high‑mobility areas.

Key responsibilities

• Identify reliable sources and key informants to gather relevant migration information.
• Conduct direct observation, counting, screening and surveying at designated flow‑monitoring points.
• Verify questionnaire accuracy and correct forms at the end of each interview.
• Record GPS coordinates for each observation point.
• Liaise with humanitarian and governmental partners in the field.
• Report daily activities, issues and recommendations to the DTM/FM Team Leader.
• Adhere to IOM’s Data Protection Principles and any additional duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Minimum BA degree (field of study not specified).
• Experience in field data collection, monitoring or related research activities.
• Ability to work independently in remote and high‑mobility environments.
• Strong observational and analytical skills.
• Good communication skills for interaction with partners and stakeholders.
