Project Management Advisor – Volunteer Placement

About the role

This volunteer placement with Cuso International in Mekele, Ethiopia supports the partner organization Heal Our People (HOP) by strengthening project management practices. Over a five‑month period starting December 2026, you will help design, execute, monitor, and evaluate projects that advance HOP’s mission.

Key responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive project plans, set timelines, delegate tasks, and lead team meetings.
• Allocate budget, personnel, and materials efficiently; track resource use and adjust as needed.
• Identify risks, create mitigation strategies, and monitor risk factors throughout the project lifecycle.
• Implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks, collect and analyse data, and produce progress reports for donors and stakeholders.
• Facilitate stakeholder meetings, workshops, and training sessions on best project‑management practices.
• Maintain thorough documentation, ensure quality control, and guarantee compliance with standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Economics, Business Administration or a related field.
• 2‑3 years of project‑management experience, preferably in community development, health, education or environmental sectors.
• Experience in non‑profit, humanitarian aid or development contexts.
• Proven ability to lead teams, collaborate with stakeholders and manage project budgets.
