Flow Monitoring Enumerator – Moyale (3 positions)

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking three qualified Flow Monitoring Enumerators to support data and research operations in Ethiopia. Working from the Moyale duty station, you will collect, verify and analyse mobility data at flow‑monitoring points, contributing to IOM’s evidence‑based migration programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Identify reliable sources and key informants to gather relevant migration information.
• Conduct direct observation, counting, screening and surveys at designated flow‑monitoring points (FMPs) and high‑mobility areas.
• Systematically verify and correct questionnaires/forms at the end of each interview.
• Record GPS coordinates for each observation point.
• Liaise with humanitarian and governmental partners in the field.
• Report daily activities, challenges and recommendations to the DTM/FM Team Leader.
• Adhere to IOM’s Data Protection Principles and any other assigned duties.

Required profile

• Minimum BA degree (any discipline).
• Experience in field data collection, surveys or monitoring activities is preferred.
• Ability to work independently in remote, high‑mobility environments.
• Strong observational and analytical skills.
• Good communication skills in English; knowledge of local languages is an asset.

Required skills

• Basic use of GPS devices or smartphone mapping applications.
• Familiarity with questionnaire design and data verification processes.
