Front‑End Engineer

About the role

Expanse is a fast‑growing AI startup looking for a Front‑End Engineer to shape the user‑facing side of its core product. You will turn UI designs into high‑performance, accessible web experiences that power daily workflows for thousands of users.

Key responsibilities

• Implement UI designs using React, Next.js and TypeScript with clean, maintainable code.
• Collaborate with product designers to refine UX and ensure technical feasibility.
• Integrate front‑end components with backend APIs for dynamic, data‑driven interfaces.
• Optimize performance, accessibility, and responsiveness across browsers and devices.
• Contribute to shared component libraries, style guides, and animation systems.
• Investigate and resolve bugs, UI inconsistencies, and edge‑case scenarios.

Required profile

• 4+ years of experience shipping production‑grade React/TypeScript applications.
• Strong eye for pixel‑perfect, polished user experiences.
• Genuine interest in AI, large language models and prompt engineering.
• Solid understanding of UX principles, accessibility standards, and performance optimization.
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive, growth‑mindset.

Required skills

• React, Next.js, Redux, TypeScript
• Jest, unit/integration/E2E testing, CI/CD pipelines
• Responsive CSS, cross‑browser quirks
• UI component libraries, design systems, Figma
• Rich‑text editors (e.g., Slate, Lexical) – a plus
• Animation libraries such as Framer or GSAP
