Government Relations Advisor, Africa (Tanzania)

About the role

Vital Strategies is seeking a Government Relations Advisor for Africa, focusing on Tanzania, to lead regional exchange and high‑level partnership building for its Lead Poisoning Prevention Program. The role will be based in Addis Ababa on a hybrid schedule and will work closely with country teams to align program activities with government priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate regional exchanges and coordinate engagement with government and program partners across multiple African countries.
• Develop and implement strategies to strengthen relationships with key ministries, agencies, and consortium partners.
• Represent Vital Strategies at regional events, policy forums, and stakeholder meetings.
• Support country teams in government outreach, partnership building, and sharing implementation updates.
• Ensure program alignment with national health priorities and global objectives.

Required profile

• Experience working with government agencies and public‑health programs in low‑ and middle‑income settings.
• Strong understanding of policy development, advocacy, and partnership management.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills across multicultural teams.
