Health Manager – Immunization, Health Systems & Emergencies (P-4)

About the role

UNICEF Ethiopia is seeking a senior health professional to lead and oversee the country’s immunization, primary health care, health‑system strengthening and emergency preparedness programmes. The Health Manager will provide strategic leadership and technical oversight to ensure equitable, resilient health services for women and children, especially in underserved and crisis‑affected areas.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and technical oversight for planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and reporting of UNICEF’s health programme.
• Develop and manage programmes in immunization, primary health care, health‑system strengthening and health emergency preparedness and response.
• Deliver results through programme development, monitoring, advisory services, advocacy, partnership building and knowledge management.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in public health, epidemiology, health policy, vaccinology or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in public‑health programme planning and management, with expertise in primary health care, routine immunisation, health‑system strengthening or health‑emergency response.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of another UN language or local language is an asset.
• Demonstrated experience working with Ethiopia’s health system, government partners, donors and international organisations is highly desirable.
