Health Specialist III – Field Based

About the role

The Health Specialist III provides regional coordination and technical supervision for the Family Care Initiative (FCI) implementation across assigned hubs, spokes, and communities. This fixed‑term, grant‑funded position translates national guidance into district‑level action, supervises Community Mobilizers, and ensures quality, timely delivery of integrated health services.

Key responsibilities

• Translate the approved workplan and technical guidance into regional and district activity schedules and priorities.
• Coordinate implementation of integrated HIV, TB, malaria, MCH, and nutrition activities across hubs, spokes and districts.
• Supervise and coach Community Mobilizers, establishing workplans, targets and reporting routines.
• Strengthen referral and feedback mechanisms between communities, health facilities and district structures.
• Monitor activity progress and budget utilization, flagging under‑ or over‑utilisation.
• Support data completeness, verification and learning together with the regional MEAL specialist.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in public health, health sciences, nursing, clinical sciences or a related field.
• Relevant experience in community health, integrated health programming or health systems strengthening.
• Experience supervising field teams and working with regional and district health structures.
• Experience with donor‑funded projects and faith‑based community platforms is desirable.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of HIV, TB, malaria, MNCH and nutrition.
• Understanding of hub‑and‑spoke referral and supportive‑supervision models.
• Strong field supervision, coaching, facilitation and coordination skills.
• Ability to monitor activity progress and resource utilization while ensuring compliance.
