HR Manager – Local (Ethiopia)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced HR Manager to lead the human resources function for our manufacturing operations in Gelan, Ethiopia. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with local labor regulations, drive talent acquisition, and support organizational development in a fast‑paced industrial environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage recruitment, onboarding, and workforce planning.
• Ensure compliance with Ethiopian labor laws and internal policies.
• Oversee employee relations, disciplinary actions, and grievance handling.
• Administer compensation, benefits, payroll coordination, and performance management.
• Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Coordinate training and development programs.
• Maintain employee records and HR documentation.
• Support management in manpower planning and organizational development.
• Prepare HR reports and provide strategic HR guidance to leadership.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
• 5–8 years of HR experience, preferably in manufacturing, steel, or industrial sectors.
• Strong knowledge of Ethiopian labor laws and employment regulations.
• Experience in recruitment, employee relations, and performance management.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced industrial environment.
