HVAC/Refrigerator Specialist

About the role

The HVAC/Refrigerator Specialist is responsible for maintaining all refrigeration and air‑conditioning equipment across Hilton brand hotels, ensuring optimal performance and guest comfort through timely repairs and preventive maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Report daily work progress and complete trouble reports to the A/C and Refrigeration Technician/Foreman.
• Prioritise and resolve guest‑room refrigeration and A/C issues.
• Carry out preventive and annual maintenance programmes in collaboration with the technician/foreman and peers.
• Conduct periodic inspections of all refrigeration equipment and record temperatures on daily log sheets.
• Perform guest‑room maintenance according to the scheduled programme.
• Assist electricians with required electrical work and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Maintain tools in good condition and keep the work area clean and organised.
• Attend departmental meetings and training sessions.

Required profile

• 5‑7 years of experience in air‑conditioning or refrigeration installation or maintenance on industrial/commercial projects.
• Strong practical trade skills, including fabrication, installation and maintenance.
• Ability to read building, A/C, refrigeration and electrical drawings.
• Experience in hotels or hospitals is advantageous.
• Flexibility to work independently and support team members as needed.

Required skills

• Fault finding and repair of air‑conditioning, refrigeration and building control systems.
• Good electrical knowledge.
• Knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS).
• Experience with reciprocating chillers, air‑handling plants and cold rooms.
• Familiarity with preventive maintenance and safety programmes.
• Understanding of water‑treatment techniques and safe handling of chemicals.
