Income Generation Activities (IGA) Assistant

About the role

The Income Generation Activities (IGA) Assistant will support Nexus 4 Education & Development’s livelihood and entrepreneurship programmes in Addis Ababa. The role involves assisting vulnerable beneficiaries to develop sustainable businesses, linking them with market opportunities, and coordinating related activities.

Key responsibilities

• Support beneficiaries in identifying viable business ideas based on skills, resources and market demand.
• Assist in drafting, reviewing and improving business plans and related documentation.
• Prepare applications for seed grants, capital or other livelihood support.
• Coordinate business‑plan review sessions with professionals and incorporate feedback.
• Monitor progress of supported businesses and provide basic guidance.
• Implement and coordinate livelihood and income‑generation activities, including trainings, competitions, exhibitions and networking events.
• Identify new income‑generating opportunities for beneficiaries and N4ED initiatives.
• Maintain up‑to‑date records of IGA activities and beneficiary progress.

Required profile

• Motivated and proactive individual with a mid‑level experience in development or business support.
• Strong communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to project sites.
