Junior Information Management Officer (JIMO)

About the role

The Junior Information Management Officer (JIMO) will support the implementation of information management, capacity strengthening, disaster preparedness and anticipatory action activities for humanitarian programmes in Ethiopia. Working under the supervision of the Senior Information Management Officer/Head of Capacity Building, the JIMO will contribute to high‑quality information products, dataset management and capacity‑building initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Produce infographics, dashboards, factsheets, situation snapshots and gap‑analysis visualisations using approved datasets.
• Develop and update thematic and operational maps with QGIS to support disaster preparedness and emergency response.
• Prepare presentation materials, visual products and communication assets for internal and external stakeholders.
• Collect, clean, validate, consolidate and maintain humanitarian datasets and information repositories.
• Manage partner reporting tools such as 3W/4W/5W matrices, activity tracking systems and capacity‑assessment databases.
• Conduct routine data quality assurance checks and support the preparation of SitReps, progress reports, analytical briefs and donor reporting products.
• Assist in designing and implementing baseline assessments, capacity assessments, surveys and other information‑gathering exercises.

Required profile

• Works under supervision of the Senior Information Management Officer/Head of Capacity Building.

Required skills

• QGIS and GIS mapping.
• Data cleaning, validation and quality assurance.
• Data visualisation (infographics, dashboards, maps).
• Humanitarian reporting tools (3W/4W/5W matrices, activity tracking).
• Preparation of situation reports and donor reporting products.
