Midwifery Nurse – Mobile Health (MHNT) – Moyale

About the role

The role provides essential support to Save the Children’s emergency programmes in Afar, focusing on accountability to beneficiaries and improving the quality and impact of health services.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and facilitate implementation of mobile health and nutrition activities, including site selection and weekly movement planning.
• Provide basic health and nutrition services such as community ANC, family planning, IMNCI/ICCM, safe motherhood, emergency care, referrals, health education and EPI following MOH guidelines.
• Facilitate the supply of essential drugs, therapeutic products and training for health posts, centres and hospitals.
• Organise and submit regular reports on ANC, FP, EPI, health education and referrals; ensure accurate data from HEWs and follow‑up of severe cases.
• Provide on‑site training and mentorship to Health Extension Workers and nurses, ensuring availability of job aids and proper stock control.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor degree in Midwifery.
• Minimum three years of professional experience, including at least two years in Maternal and Child Health (MCH) programmes.
• Hands‑on experience in clinical settings, especially maternal and child health services.

Required skills

• Maternal and Child Health clinical skills (ANC, safe motherhood, IMNCI/ICCM).
• Family Planning and EPI service delivery.
• Ability to train and mentor Health Extension Workers and manage health supplies.
