Mixer and Standard Driver – Logistics

About the role

The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) is seeking a full‑time Mixer Driver & Normal Driver to join its logistics team in Addis Ababa. Working in a hybrid setting, you will transport construction materials, equipment and humanitarian supplies to project sites while supporting emergency response operations.

Key responsibilities

• Operate mixer trucks and standard vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Load, unload and secure cargo, respecting load limits and handling procedures.
• Conduct pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections, monitor fluid levels and perform basic upkeep.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and report any mechanical issues promptly.
• Complete trip logs, delivery documentation and other required paperwork accurately.
• Coordinate with logistics, warehouse and field teams, adapting to changing schedules.
• Support emergency and relief missions as needed, including evenings and weekends.

Required profile

• Valid CDL Class A (or equivalent national heavy‑vehicle licence).
• Proven experience driving mixer trucks and standard trucks.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations or equivalent local transport and safety rules.
• Clean driving record and strong familiarity with local routes.
• Ability to follow instructions, keep accurate records and communicate with team members.
• Reliability, punctuality and flexibility to work irregular hours.
• Commitment to humanitarian principles and ability to work in a multicultural environment.
