Mobile Health and Nutrition Nurse (2 positions)

About the role

Save the Children Ethiopia is recruiting two Mobile Health and Nutrition Nurses for the Health and Nutrition programme in Habru woreda, North Wollo zone, Amhara region. The nurses provide integrated health and nutrition services through the Mobile Health and Nutrition Team, delivering IMNCI, nutrition services, child immunization, maternal and child health, health education and referral support in line with national and regional guidelines. The post reports to the Mobile HN officer and runs a 12-month contract from 1 October 2026 to 30 September 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Support the MHNT officer in implementing mobile activities, site selection and the weekly movement plan
• Provide basic services such as community IMNCI/ICCM, safe motherhood, emergency care, referral, health education and EPI according to the Somali RHB mobile guidelines
• Facilitate essential drugs, supplies and therapeutic products for the team and selected health facilities
• Train and mentor health extension workers and nurses, and ensure job aids are available at health posts
• Organize daily, weekly and monthly reports on OTP, EPI, health education and consultations, and receive and cross-check weekly reports from HEWs
• Ensure the referral system links services with health facilities and follow up absentees and defaulters
• Take part in capacity-building training, health education sessions and ENA/BCC applications, and work with the budget holder on compliant use of resources

Required profile

• Diploma or bachelor's degree in nursing or public health
• At least 2 years of experience, including 1 year in a CMAM programme and/or mobile health and nutrition, with mandatory clinical experience in maternal and child health
• Good command of written and spoken English and the local language
• Willingness to work under pressure and extra hours

Required skills

• Knowledge of CMAM, SAM management and IMNCI/ICCM
• Case management of childhood and adult illness and safe motherhood
• Programme planning, implementation and monitoring
• Strong Microsoft skills and teamwork
