Mobile Health and Nutrition Nurse/Midwifery

About the role

Save the Children Ethiopia is recruiting two Mobile Health and Nutrition Nurses/Midwives for the Habru woreda in North Wollo, reporting to the Mobile HN officer. The post holder delivers the daily mobile health and nutrition services package in the woreda, supervising health extension workers and health facility staff, and spends 100% of their time on the award.

Key responsibilities

• Implement ANC/PNC, family planning, EPI and nutrition screening services, and support referrals of pregnant women to health facilities for safe delivery
• Provide health education, sanitation, safe motherhood and child health, and supervise and coach deliveries, immunizations and health education
• Carry out anthropometry measurements and follow national protocols for admission and discharge criteria
• Train health extension workers and health facility staff, and facilitate project trainings
• Manage daily drug supplies, F100 and F75 stock, and document screened children, mothers, patients and vaccinations
• Compile weekly, monthly and quarterly reports and represent the project in woreda coordination platforms

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in nursing and midwifery
• At least 2 years of experience for BSc holders and 6 years for diploma holders, including one year directly related to emergency health and nutrition and midwifery
• Proficiency in spoken and written Amharic, English and the local language

• Program planning, implementation and monitoring
• Training of trainers and development of training materials
• Computer skills (Microsoft)
