Oil Operations Officer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Oil Operations Officer to support petroleum operations across the downstream supply chain in Ethiopia. The role involves managing product flow at terminals and depots, ensuring accurate inventory records, and maintaining compliance with health, safety, security and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Support receiving, transfer, loading and off‑loading of petroleum products.
• Monitor tank levels, product movement and inventory, maintaining precise operational records.
• Coordinate product allocation and distribution to depots and offtakers.
• Verify custody transfer measurements and reconcile product balances.
• Prepare daily operational reports, meter readings and incident documentation.
• Assist with product sampling, quality checks and operational compliance.
• Ensure adherence to HSSE standards.
• Collaborate with terminal personnel and other stakeholders to optimise operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Transport & Logistics, Engineering, Supply Chain or a related field.
• 2–3 years of experience in petroleum, terminal or depot operations, or downstream fuel logistics.
• Previous experience with an Oil Marketing Company (OMC) is a strong advantage.
• Good understanding of petroleum product handling, logistics coordination and inventory management.
• Strong analytical, communication, problem‑solving and reporting abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with data management tools.
