People and Culture Officer (6‑month contract) – Addis Ababa

About the role

Under the supervision of the People and Culture Specialist, the People and Culture Officer will support the delivery of HR services for UNICEF Ethiopia. This six‑month position focuses on business partnering, strategic HR, learning, and data analytics to ensure seamless service delivery and alignment with organisational objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Provide timely, high‑quality HR support to internal clients and coordinate ongoing HR initiatives.
• Assist in business partnering activities, including workforce planning and employee relations.
• Support implementation of assigned HR services such as recruitment, onboarding, and performance management.
• Contribute to learning and capacity‑development programmes for staff.
• Collect, analyse, and report HR data to inform decision‑making.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Management, International Relations, Psychology or a related field.
• At least one year of relevant HR experience in an international organisation or large corporation.
• Basic knowledge of HR principles and concepts.
• Ability to identify issues, conduct research, and make recommendations.
