People and Talent Manager

About the role

The People and Talent Manager will lead the strategic direction and implementation of recruitment, onboarding, capacity development, performance management, succession planning and employee engagement for Plan International Ethiopia.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement people, talent and organisational development strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Lead workforce planning, succession management, talent development and change initiatives.
• Manage end‑to‑end recruitment, onboarding, internal mobility and employer branding.
• Oversee performance management processes, including goal setting, reviews and coaching.
• Design and deliver learning, capacity‑building and leadership development programmes.
• Drive employee engagement, wellbeing, recognition and culture initiatives.
• Monitor HR metrics, maintain HRIS data integrity and produce analytics reports.
• Support budget planning and ensure compliance with policies, data protection and audit requirements.

Required profile

• BA degree in Management, Human Resource Management or related field.
• Minimum 7 years relevant experience, including at least 3 years in a managerial talent acquisition or learning & development role.
• Proven ability to communicate authoritatively and build effective relationships across a network.
• Experience developing guidelines or SOPs and managing training initiatives.
• Understanding of Safeguarding Children and Gender Equality & Inclusion policies.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft applications.
• Ability to organise and manage multiple training initiatives.
• Experience creating training materials, lesson planning and implementation.
• Competence with multimedia training platforms and methods.
