Physiotherapy Doctor – Consultant (UN Health Care Center)

About the role

The Physiotherapy Doctor will provide comprehensive physiotherapy services to United Nations staff, their families, and eligible beneficiaries at the UN Health Care Center in Addis Ababa. This consultancy role supports patient‑centered care, functional recovery and multidisciplinary collaboration within the UN community.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct thorough physical assessments, diagnose conditions and develop individualized physiotherapy treatment plans.
• Deliver therapeutic interventions such as manual therapy, exercise prescription and pain‑management modalities.
• Educate patients on self‑management, injury prevention and the importance of ongoing physical activity.
• Prepare accurate physiotherapy reports and documentation for referring clinicians.
• Consult with medical staff on findings and recommend further investigations or referrals when needed.
• Ensure proper operation, maintenance and safety of physiotherapy equipment and follow infection‑control protocols.

Required profile

• Medical degree with specialization in physiotherapy or equivalent qualification.
• Professional registration and eligibility to practice in Ethiopia or internationally.
• Experience delivering physiotherapy services in a clinical or humanitarian setting.
• Ability to work under the supervision of the Chief Medical Officer and collaborate in a multicultural environment.
