Programme Specialist, Spotlight Initiative Africa Regional Programme (SIARP) 2.0

About the role

The Programme Specialist provides high‑level technical expertise and strategic coordination to the African Union Commission (AUC) within the Spotlight Initiative Africa Regional Programme (SIARP) 2.0. The role supports the alignment of regional policies with international standards to accelerate the elimination of violence against women and girls, eradicate harmful practices, and advance sexual and reproductive health and rights across Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise and strategic coordination to the AUC under the SIARP 2.0 framework.
• Ensure regional policies are aligned with international standards to combat VAWG and harmful practices.
• Advance sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) initiatives across the continent.
• Support external relations, communications, partnership‑building and resource mobilisation in a rapidly changing development and funding landscape.
• Manage programme resources transparently and deliver results in line with UNFPA strategic outcomes.

Required profile

• Strong commitment to international human‑rights norms and gender equality.
• Ability to act ethically and defend principles with conviction.
• Proven experience delivering high‑impact results in complex, multi‑stakeholder environments.
• Demonstrated transparency and accountability in resource management.
