Project Assistant for SRH Next Alliance

About the role

The Project Assistant will support day‑to‑day implementation of the SRH Next Alliance Project at field level in Ethiopia, working closely with local government, health facilities, schools and community groups. The role involves frequent field travel and contributes to improving access to youth‑friendly, gender‑responsive and disability‑inclusive sexual and reproductive health services.

Key responsibilities

• Support planning, organization and implementation of approved project activities in assigned woredas, maintaining relationships with health offices, schools and community stakeholders.
• Coordinate meetings, trainings, outreach events and ensure proper documentation, attendance tracking and follow‑up of actions.
• Assist health facilities in establishing youth‑friendly SRH service corners and conduct capacity‑strengthening activities for service providers.
• Facilitate mobile and community outreach to reach remote, marginalized and out‑of‑school adolescents.
• Collect, verify and organize routine monitoring data, prepare field updates, activity reports and maintain project files.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Nursing, Midwifery, Health Promotion, Sociology, Social Work, Development Studies or related field.
• At least two years of experience supporting community‑based health, SRH, adolescent/youth or gender projects, preferably in an NGO setting.
• Experience working with local government structures, health facilities, schools or youth groups.
• Ability to communicate respectfully with adolescents, service providers and community leaders.

Required skills

• Basic competence in data collection, record keeping and report writing.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
