Project Assistant (Reintegration) – Consultant

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Project Assistant to support reintegration activities for returnees in Ethiopia. The position is based in Addis Ababa and will work within the Protection Unit’s Reintegration Sub‑unit, providing direct assistance to vulnerable migrants, refugees and internally displaced persons.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and liaise with governmental authorities, UN agencies, NGOs and other stakeholders on reintegration projects.
• Assist in the design, implementation and monitoring of protection activities for returnees.
• Collect, analyse and report data related to vulnerable groups and protection outcomes.
• Provide logistical and administrative support for field missions and community outreach.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with IOM policies and donor requirements.

Required profile

• School diploma with three years relevant experience, or a Bachelor’s degree in Political/Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related field with at least one year of professional experience.
• Demonstrated experience working with migrants, refugees, IDPs, victims of trafficking or other vulnerable groups.
• Experience liaising with governmental and international institutions.
• Fluency in English and Amharic or Afan Oromo (oral and written).

Required skills

• Strong computer literacy, including standard office software.
