Project Manager – Residential Child & Youth Care Program

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead a residential and community‑based child and youth care program operated by a Christian non‑profit in Ethiopia. The role oversees daily operations, staff, facilities, programs and partnerships to ensure high impact and long‑term sustainability.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership across all program activities and supervise caregivers, counselors, teachers and support staff.
• Implement trauma‑informed, family‑style care, coordinating life‑skills training, education support, counseling and vocational programmes.
• Oversee facility maintenance, safety, budget management, procurement and reporting, supporting sustainability initiatives such as agriculture and woodwork.
• Build and maintain relationships with government offices, local leaders, NGOs and donors; represent the program in external meetings and assist fundraising efforts.
• Track project indicators, outcomes and compliance with child‑protection policies, preparing regular reports for the organization.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Project Management, Community Development or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum five years of experience managing residential care or similar programmes.
• Strong grounding in trauma‑informed care and child development.
• Proven leadership, team‑management and communication abilities.
• Fluent in English and Amharic; Afaan Oromo is an asset.
• Alignment with the organization’s Christian mission and values.
