RDP Technical Specialist (Maternity Cover) – Addis Ababa

About the role

World University Service of Canada (WUSC) seeks an experienced RDP Technical Specialist to provide maternity‑cover technical leadership in Ethiopia. The role begins on 15 August 2026 and lasts for 5.5 months, supporting the implementation of Phase II of WUSC’s refugee‑displaced‑person youth initiative.

Key responsibilities

• Assume immediate responsibility for technical assistance to the RDP ecosystem in Ethiopia.
• Leverage existing knowledge of refugee and displaced‑person policies, coordination structures, and partner networks.
• Guide and coordinate with local actors, Refugee‑Led Organizations and other stakeholders to ensure effective delivery of technical support.
• Monitor progress against project targets and report to the Head of Technical Assistance Mechanism based in Nairobi.
• Provide strategic input to strengthen local ecosystems for youth employment and education.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an RDP technical specialist with deep familiarity of Ethiopia’s refugee and displaced‑person landscape.
• Currently residing in Ethiopia with valid work authorization.
• Fluency in English.
• Ability to step into a short‑term role and deliver results quickly.
