Recovery Officer – Loan Recovery (Addis Ababa)

About the role

Inkomoko is seeking a Recovery Officer to join its Addis Ababa team. The role focuses on protecting the loan portfolio by identifying, monitoring and recovering defaulted loans, while ensuring compliance with Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Alert, follow up and recover defaulted loans through site visits, coordination with local authorities and manual settlement of overdue accounts.
• Monitor the credit portfolio, evaluate default risk and recommend recovery solutions.
• Identify and escalate repayment irregularities for management action.
• Prepare monthly portfolio reports and weekly turnover reports for management decision‑making.
• Maintain a trigger reporting system for credit impairments and propose corrective actions.
• Support loan officers, loan managers and compliance officers on non‑performing loans.
• Conduct post‑disbursement spot checks to verify loan performance and utilization.
• Maintain PAR level in compliance with CBK regulations and follow up with the Finance department for reconciliation.

Required profile

• Experience in loan recovery, monitoring and reporting.
• Familiarity with CBK regulatory requirements, especially PAR compliance.
• Ability to conduct field visits and interact with local authorities and clients.
