Sales and Promotion Officer

About the role

The Sales and Promotion Officer (SPO) will work on‑site in Addis Ababa, acting as the primary link between MSIE and its customers in the region. The SPO will drive visibility of MSIE’s pharmaceutical and clinical medical products, using social‑marketing techniques to grow sales and support the company’s health‑focused mission.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop business opportunities by assessing client needs and presenting product value propositions.
• Promote and sell MSIE pharmaceutical and medical products to potential customers.
• Design and execute sales strategies to meet departmental targets.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, ensuring timely product delivery according to route plans.
• Provide product information, deliver samples, and process orders using price lists and product baskets.
• Record sales transactions and customer data accurately with sales‑tracking technologies.
• Prepare and submit activity reports, including daily call logs, weekly work plans, and monthly/annual territory analyses.
• Monitor market trends, collect feedback, and suggest improvements to sales and promotional tactics.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a pharmaceutical representative or in medical sales.
• BS degree in Pharmacy or a Pharmacy diploma/10+4 (Druggist).
• At least 2 years of pharmaceutical sales experience (BS) or 4 years (diploma).
• Strong organizational and time‑management abilities.
• Commitment to women’s sexual and reproductive health rights.

Required skills
