Senior Accountant – Manufacturing Finance

About the role

The Senior Accountant will lead financial operations for a manufacturing organization in Addis Ababa. You will ensure accurate financial reporting, manage cost accounting, and support tax compliance while collaborating with internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee financial operations, prepare financial statements and conduct variance analysis.
• Manage cost accounting processes, including job costing, cost build worksheets for imports, and COGS tracking.
• Track inventory levels, conduct periodic inventory audits, and reconcile physical stock with system records.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, GAAP, and local tax regulations (VAT, corporate income tax).
• Coordinate month‑end and year‑end closing, journal entries, accruals, and general ledger reconciliations.
• Liaise with external auditors and tax authorities as required.

Required profile

• 5‑8 years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and tax regulations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA or ACCA a plus.
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical ability, and effective communication skills.
