About the role
Visa is looking for a senior sales leader to drive the growth of its Government Solutions portfolio across East and Eastern Africa. The role will focus on building relationships with public‑sector clients, identifying high‑value opportunities and positioning Visa as a trusted partner for digital payment initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Execute Visa’s Government Solutions sales strategy in the region, targeting national, provincial and local government agencies.
- Develop and manage a pipeline of public‑sector opportunities, creating account plans, business cases and value propositions.
- Lead the end‑to‑end sales cycle, from opportunity identification through procurement, bid submission and contract award.
- Collaborate with internal teams – Government Affairs, Product, Marketing, Client Services and country offices – to tailor solutions that improve service delivery, transparency and citizen outcomes.
- Represent Visa in stakeholder meetings, industry forums and public‑sector events to promote digital payments, wallets and data‑driven decision‑making.
Required profile
- Proven experience selling complex solutions to government or public‑sector clients, preferably in payments or financial services.
- Strong consultative sales and stakeholder‑management skills, with a track record of closing high‑value contracts.
- Deep understanding of public‑sector procurement processes and regulatory environments in East and Eastern Africa.
- Ability to work in a matrix organization and influence cross‑functional teams.
