Senior Medical Associate

About the role
The Senior Medical Associate will lead the delivery of medical assistance at the International Organization for Migration’s Migrant Transit Centre in Addis Ababa. Working closely with the Government of Ethiopia, UN partners and NGOs, the role ensures vulnerable returnees receive appropriate primary and secondary health care.
Key responsibilities
- Organise and manage the Medical Assistants roster, assigning duties and overseeing daily scheduling at the Transit Centre.
- Develop, update and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to medical assistance.
- Supervise and train medical staff to ensure compliance with SOPs and quality of care.
- Support analysis of migrant flow tools and monitor scheduling trends to improve service delivery.
- Prepare medical reports and coordinate with partner health facilities for secondary care.
Required profile
- Relevant experience in medical coordination or health service delivery, preferably in humanitarian or migration contexts.
- Ability to work under the supervision of the Chief of Mission and Programme Officers.
- Strong collaboration skills with government, UN and NGO partners.
- Knowledge of SOP development and staff supervision.
