Senior Technical Lead – Health Entrepreneurship

About the role

The Senior Technical Lead – Health Entrepreneurship will drive the Health Entrepreneurship pillar of Amref’s Community Health Workers programme in Ethiopia. Working closely with the Health Entrepreneurship specialist and coordinator, the lead will strengthen local entrepreneurship opportunities for community health actors and support the creation of sustainable, community‑based enterprises.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver entrepreneurship training, mentorship and business development support for CHWs, Women Development Army, Men Development Army and Voluntary Health Leaders.
• Collaborate with local cooperatives and Savings and Credit Cooperative Organisations (SACCOs) to identify and promote business opportunities linked to community health services.
• Partner with the Digital Health Specialist to integrate digital literacy components that enable community actors to use digital tools for business development.
• Monitor and evaluate the impact of entrepreneurship initiatives on livelihood outcomes and health system strengthening.
• Provide technical guidance to programme teams and ensure alignment with Amref’s strategic objectives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in health‑related entrepreneurship, community health, or similar development programmes.
• Strong understanding of community‑based health systems and the role of CHWs.
• Experience working with cooperatives, SACCOs or micro‑finance institutions.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
