Senior Transport Finance Officer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Transport Finance Officer to join our growing logistics team. You will be responsible for overseeing the financial performance of transport operations, ensuring accurate budgeting, cost control, and profitability analysis across our projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and monitor transport operation budgets and monthly performance reports.
• Track revenues, profitability, and expenses for each trip and project.
• Monitor operational expenditures such as fuel, maintenance, overload charges, detention costs, and driver allowances.
• Analyze operational costs, recommend cost‑saving initiatives, and verify payments for suppliers, drivers, and subcontractors.
• Closely monitor trip expenses on the Djibouti–Ethiopia corridor, including fuel consumption, truck maintenance, driver allowances, escort services, and loading/unloading operations.
• Collect and verify supporting documents for operational expenses.
• Prepare planned vs. actual revenue reports and profit/loss analyses for cargo movements and projects.
• Compare quotations with actual operational costs and support pricing decisions.
• Record and manage financial transactions using Zoho systems.
• Coordinate with operations, logistics, and fleet departments to ensure financial discipline.
• Follow up on client payments, transport claims, and contract administration.
• Ensure compliance with company financial policies and procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in transport, logistics, freight forwarding or heavy transport operations.
• Proven experience in transport cost analysis and operational finance management.
• Experience handling containerized, break‑bulk, oversized and heavy cargo is a plus.
• Experience on the Djibouti–Ethiopia transport corridor is a strong advantage.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with Zoho Books, Zoho Expense or similar financial systems.
• Strong knowledge of transport finance and operational cost management.
