Senior Vaccine and Cold Chain Management Consultant

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a Senior Vaccine and Cold Chain Management Consultant to support Ethiopia's Ministry of Health (MoH) and the Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPSS). The consultant will work from an office in Addis Ababa and travel frequently to regional and local sites, helping to strengthen the immunization supply chain.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, forecast, procure, store, and distribute vaccines, supplies, and cold‑chain equipment.
• Monitor and report on vaccine inventory, cold‑chain performance, and logistics data.
• Develop national cold‑chain equipment inventories and rehabilitation plans.
• Provide technical assistance and training to MoH, EPSS, and partner staff.
• Support the development of SOPs, guidelines, and training materials.
• Collaborate with WHO, Gavi, and other stakeholders on PQS‑listed equipment and CCEOP processes.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Pharmacy, Public Health, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
• Minimum five years of experience in health logistics, supply planning, forecasting, customs clearance, and inventory control, preferably in emergency settings.
• Strong knowledge of the Ethiopian health sector and its supply chains.
• Fluent in English and willing to travel frequently.
