Senior WordPress Developer

Job description
About the role
We are a fully remote B2B marketing agency that builds and maintains high‑performing WordPress sites for SaaS, climate‑tech and enterprise software clients. As a Senior WordPress Developer you will own the entire lifecycle of client websites – from pixel‑perfect implementation of Figma designs to post‑launch monitoring, incident response and performance optimisation.
Key responsibilities
- Develop custom, responsive WordPress themes and templates from scratch, ensuring pixel‑perfect fidelity to Figma designs.
- Build and ship landing pages, microsites and campaign pages at a rapid pace (baseline one page per day).
- Integrate third‑party APIs such as CRMs, marketing automation, analytics and form handlers.
- Work with Webflow when required, delivering functional pages without relying on page‑builder shortcuts.
- Write clean, well‑commented code that can be handed off to other developers without extensive walkthroughs.
- Own L1/L2 incident response: diagnose and resolve site‑down events, SSL errors, plugin conflicts, database issues, SEO hacks and performance degradations.
- Manage server‑side configuration, including hosting environments, caching layers (Redis, Varnish, WP Super Cache), CDN setup and PHP/MySQL tuning.
- Monitor and improve website performance metrics (Core Web Vitals, GTmetrix/PageSpeed Insights), implement image optimisation (WebP, lazy loading) and caching strategies.
- Maintain staging‑to‑production deployment workflows and ensure reliable releases.
Required profile
- Comfortable owning a website after launch and taking responsibility for its uptime and performance.
- Proactive in diagnosing incidents without needing step‑by‑step guidance.
- Detail‑oriented, able to translate design gaps into functional solutions.
- Hands‑on with server configuration, DNS records and hosting control panels.
- Performance‑focused, addressing issues before clients raise complaints.
- Self‑starter who can define and follow a deployment workflow.
