Social Behavioural Change Officer – Immunization

About the role
Save the Children is looking for a qualified Social Behavioural Change Officer to support the GSK‑funded immunization programme in Ethiopia. The officer will work at the field and woreda levels to generate community demand for vaccination and help reduce zero‑dose and under‑immunised children.
Key responsibilities
- Support, monitor and report on tailored Social and Behavioural Change (SBC) interventions for immunisation.
- Conduct assessments to identify sociocultural and gender‑related barriers to vaccine uptake.
- Collaborate with the Country Office, Field Offices and government partners at regional, zonal and woreda levels.
- Provide technical assistance on SBC to government stakeholders and strengthen the capacity of field staff.
- Assist in developing SBC strategies that align with national community mobilisation plans.
Required profile
- Relevant experience in social and behavioural change, community mobilisation or immunisation programmes.
- Ability to work closely with government partners and multi‑disciplinary project teams.
- Understanding of gender and cultural factors influencing health‑seeking behaviour.
- Commitment to child safeguarding (Level 3).
