STEM Coach/Trainer for Children (Addis Ababa)

About the role

STEM For Kids® is seeking enthusiastic Coaches/Trainers to lead hands‑on STEM learning sessions for children in Addis Ababa. You will create engaging, activity‑based lessons that make science, technology, engineering, and math fun and accessible.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and prepare materials, lesson plans, and experiments aligned with STEM For Kids® curricula.
• Deliver interactive instruction and facilitate group work during on‑site sessions, camps, and workshops.
• Maintain a safe, supportive learning environment for children from PreK to Grade 5.
• Assess learner progress, provide constructive feedback, and adapt teaching methods to diverse learning styles.
• Collaborate with local schools, program coordinators, and families to ensure program success.
• Participate in ongoing training to continuously improve instructional quality.

Required profile

• Strong instructional and coaching abilities with experience leading groups of children.
• Background in a STEM‑related field (science, technology, engineering, or math) or related discipline.
• Teaching, tutoring, or youth‑development experience is highly beneficial.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom‑management skills.
• Commitment to equity, inclusion, and fostering curiosity and innovation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Education, STEM, or a related field preferred.

Required skills

• Experience with STEM kits.
• Familiarity with robotics.
• Knowledge of coding platforms.
• Comfort using basic educational software tools.
