Warehouse Assistant – Fixed Term (Addis Ababa)

About the role

UNICEF Ethiopia is seeking a Warehouse Assistant on a fixed‑term basis to manage the daily receipt, storage, and dispatch of programme supplies. Working under the supervision of the Warehouse Officer, you will ensure that all items are handled according to product‑specific requirements and that security standards are upheld.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and record incoming shipments in the warehouse.
• Prepare and dispatch supplies to field locations while maintaining accurate documentation.
• Monitor storage conditions to meet temperature, humidity, and safety specifications for each product type.
• Maintain inventory records and conduct regular stock counts.
• Ensure compliance with UNICEF warehouse policies, security protocols, and health & safety regulations.
• Coordinate with programme teams to forecast supply needs and support logistics planning.

Required profile

• Proven experience in warehouse or logistics operations, preferably in humanitarian or development settings.
• Ability to work independently and follow detailed procedural guidelines.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining security of programme assets.
• Good communication skills for interaction with internal teams and external suppliers.
