Affiliate Contractor - Project Associate (Protection Information Management)

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking an Affiliate Contractor to join its Protection Unit in Ethiopia as a Project Associate focused on Protection Information Management. The role supports the team’s data needs, ensuring high-quality information for migration-related protection programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement data collection tools for protection programmes.
• Perform data cleaning, validation and quality checks in collaboration with field teams.
• Maintain and update the Migration Risk and Coordination Information System (MRCIS), including migrant profiling and trend analysis.
• Produce databases, visualisations and dashboards to inform decision-making.
• Manage SharePoint sites and provide information-management support to other protection teams such as Return and Reintegration, Protection Emergencies, and Policy & Liaison.
• Handle ad-hoc information-management tasks as required.

Required profile

• Ability to work under the supervision of senior protection officers and coordinate with national protection staff.
• Strong attention to data quality and analytical rigor.
• Experience in supporting humanitarian or migration-related information systems.
