Chief Financial Officer – Ethiopia

About the role

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for Ethiopia will lead the finance, controlling, and administration functions across the country and sub‑region. Reporting to senior leadership, the CFO ensures financial decisions support business growth while complying with legal and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement local finance and controlling strategy, policies, and procedures.
• Promote cost‑efficient operations and identify cost‑saving measures.
• Set financial goals, monitor implementation, and maintain a red‑flag reporting system.
• Lead financial resource management to sustain short‑ and long‑term financial health.
• Develop long‑term financial planning for the country and sub‑region.
• Approve investments within delegated authority limits.
• Ensure accurate, transparent, and timely management reporting, including IFRS financial statements.
• Evaluate investment and acquisition business cases in line with DPDHL policy.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, billing, and cash collection processes.
• Continuously improve financial processes, systems, and tools while managing financial risk.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in finance and controlling.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, statutory and legal financial requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute long‑term financial plans.
• Experience evaluating investment and acquisition cases.
• Track record of improving financial processes and managing risk.
