Driver for REACH Malaria Project in Ethiopia

About the role

PATH is seeking a qualified driver to support the United States Government‑funded REACH Malaria project in Ethiopia. The driver will provide transportation and logistical assistance for health posts and health centres, ensuring safe and reliable movement of staff, supplies and equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Transport project staff, patients and supplies to and from health facilities while adhering to all traffic regulations and safety protocols.
• Perform daily vehicle checks (oil, water, battery, brakes, tires) and conduct minor preventive maintenance.
• Maintain accurate daily log sheets documenting mileage, fuel consumption, destinations and cargo.
• Ensure the vehicle is clean, road‑worthy, equipped with a first‑aid kit and basic tool kit before each trip.
• Report major maintenance needs and manage fuel and insurance documentation.
• Prepare and submit monthly reports on activity, fuel consumption and expenditures.

Required profile

• Completed 12th grade; auto‑mechanics Level 3 certificate preferred.
• Minimum five years’ driving experience with an international or government organization, including four‑wheel‑drive vehicles.
• Valid Grade 3 driving licence and ability to keep it current.
• Good command of written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Vehicle maintenance and basic auto‑mechanics.
• Operation of four‑wheel‑drive vehicles.
• Accurate log‑book recording and reporting.
