About the role

The Economic Security Generalist 2 supports the design, implementation and monitoring of ICRC economic security programmes in the Oromia region. Working under the guidance of a senior Generalist, the role analyses the economic situation of affected populations and helps shape interventions that improve livelihoods.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and monitor economic security activities in line with the department’s priorities, budget and plan of action.
• Conduct multi‑disciplinary and specialised needs assessments using the standard EcoSec approach (agriculture, livestock, cash and voucher assistance).
• Maintain up‑to‑date information on livelihoods, agriculture, markets and related security, social and political factors.
• Coordinate with ICRC protection, assistance and other departments to ensure coherent programme delivery.
• Establish and maintain regular communication with local authorities, community leaders, NGOs and ICRC branches.
• Participate in local coordination meetings relevant to EcoSec projects.
• Prepare and submit progress reports as required.

Required profile

• Experience in economic security, livelihoods or humanitarian assistance programmes.
• Ability to analyse economic data and produce clear assessments.
• Strong communication and networking skills with local stakeholders.
• Capacity to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
