Licensed Investment Banker – Investment & Funding Specialist

About the role

Selam Microfinance Institution S.C. is seeking a Licensed Investment Banker to design and manage investment and funding solutions that drive the institution’s growth and community‑focused initiatives. The role is full‑time and based on‑site in Arbaminch, Ethiopia.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze financial markets and assess investment opportunities aligned with the institution’s mission.
• Prepare and maintain detailed financial models and valuation analyses.
• Advise senior leadership on capital‑raising strategies, including debt, equity, and blended‑finance instruments.
• Draft, review, and present investment proposals to internal and external stakeholders.
• Conduct due‑diligence on potential partners and ensure compliance with regulatory and internal risk policies.
• Collaborate with finance, risk, and senior management teams to align investment activities with long‑term strategy.
• Maintain relationships with investors, regulators, and other key stakeholders.

Required profile

• Strong expertise in financial analysis, modeling, and valuation techniques.
• Experience in investment banking, corporate finance, or capital markets, with a track record of structuring transactions.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance, risk management, and due‑diligence processes for financial institutions.
• Background in microfinance, development finance, or impact investing is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting or related field; Master’s degree or professional certification (CFA, CPA) is an advantage.
• Valid license or registration to practice as an investment professional under Ethiopian regulations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and high integrity.
