MERL Specialist – Fixed-term (1 year)

About the role

The MERL Specialist will lead high‑quality data collection and analysis for child‑focused programmes at the national office level. This fixed‑term position, funded by a one‑year grant, supports monitoring, evaluation, research and learning activities across all funded interventions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and oversee data collection tools and instruments for programme monitoring.
• Analyse baseline, needs‑assessment and routine monitoring data to identify trends and inform programme design.
• Produce regular monitoring and evaluation reports, including recommendations for improvement.
• Provide technical advice on M&E to national, regional and global staff and partners.
• Coach and support partnership facilitators, programme support teams and church partners on M&E best practices.
• Ensure compliance with child‑protection policies and reporting requirements.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in monitoring, evaluation, research or learning within child‑focused or humanitarian programmes.
• Commitment to child protection principles and ability to work within Compassion’s Code of Conduct.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively on complex, multi‑stakeholder projects.
